Uzbek customs officers participate in national training

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Twenty-one officers from the State Customs Committee participate in the four-day National training on Control and Facilitation - Core Business of Modern Border Management, organised by the Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA), funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP, jointly with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
The training will be facilitated by two international experts from Sweden, who will help the participants to understand the concept of trade facilitation, relationship between international conventions, national legislation and operations, as well as the importance of the relationships between the different customs procedures.
The participants with trainers will review different approaches to clearance processes and solutions, the single window approach and its benefits for the customs, traders and other stakeholders.
The overall objectives of BOMCA’s engagement in Central Asia are to help increase security in the Central Asian region, to contribute toward the facilitation of legitimate trade and transit, and to reduce the illicit movement of goods and people.
The BOMCA Programme is funded by the European Union and is implemented by UNDP with ICMPD as an implementing partner.
