Projects for US$216.2m to be implemented at SIZ Angren

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Eleven projects for US$216.2 million will be implemented at the territory of the special industrial zone Angren in 2013-2015.
The projects will be implemented in such spheres as food industry, oil, metallurgy, coal and electrotechnical. The volume of foreign investments will make up US$145.11 million.
Three projects with total cost of US$60.5 million will be implemented at the Angren special industrial zone by the end of 2013.
In particular, Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine will launch production of copper pipes with the capacity of 8,000 tonnes a year. The project cost is US$35.2 million.
Bulgaria’s Prista Oil and Uznefteprodukt will open a plant on production of basic oils from used raw materials. The capacity of the plant will be 43,000 tonnes a year. The project cost is US$15 million.
The Uzbek-Korean joint venture Uz-Shindong Silicon will complete construction of the plant on production of 5,000 tonnes of technical silicon a year. The volume of investments will make u US$8.76 million.
EG Lightings Co. Ltd (South Korea) will complete realization of the project “Organization of production of energy saving LED-lamps for street lightening” with the cost of US$1 million. The capacity of the project is 48,000 lamps a year.
In December 2014, the sugar plant with the cost of US$108.5 million will be implemented in the zone. The capacity of the plant is 1,000 tonnes of sugar a day from raw sugare cane.
The shareholders of the enterprise are Singapore’s Welton International and Kito Investment, as well as Austria’s SEID Handelsgesellschaft m.b.H.
The projects on production of leather products, granulated mixed fodder for cattle, poultry and wishes, as well as production of sanitary ceramics.
