President of Uzbekistan pardons 92 citizens

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On clemency of a group of people serving a sentence of sentence, sincerely repenting of their deeds and firmly embarking on the path of correction”.
The decree in connection with the 27th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and in accordance with paragraph 23 of Article 93 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan pardoned 92 citizens serving a sentence who, through ignorance, committed a crime, but sincerely repented of their deed and firmly embarked on the path of correction.
Out of the pardons, 20 people are completely exempted from punishment, 37 are released from serving their sentences on parole, the sentence imposed on 16 people is commuted to a milder one, in a word, 73 people are exempted from penal institutions and removed from the register of probation services. In addition, reduced sentences in the form of imprisonment imposed on 19 persons.
Among the pardoned, 3 are men over 60, 3 - women, 79 - persons who participated in the activities of banned organizations.
This event is a practical embodiment of the policy of humanism in our country, as well as such noble qualities of our people as generosity, condescension, nobility and mercy.
As part of the implementation of the Decree, the responsible ministries and departments were instructed to assist the pardoned persons in returning to their families and loved ones, social adaptation, engaging in useful work, choosing a healthy lifestyle and taking a worthy place in society.
