Samarkand Region Discusses Projects with US Diaspora
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Samarkand region, led by regional governor Adiz Boboev, held a meeting with compatriots living in the United States during a business forum in New York State. The discussions focused on strengthening economic cooperation and launching new joint initiatives.
During the talks, participants considered practical proposals aimed at expanding the region’s export potential through the creation of a large logistics hub and the introduction of more efficient transport solutions to support trade with the United States.
Another area of discussion was the use of Samarkand region’s tourism potential. In particular, the parties explored the possibility of launching a modern car rental service for foreign tourists, as well as developing service infrastructure to increase the region’s attractiveness.
The meeting also addressed the expansion of Samarkand IT Park activities, including the creation of new jobs and the development of digital services. Participants noted that this direction could become one of the key drivers of economic growth and investment attraction.
The regional governor stressed that Samarkand offers favorable conditions for investors and continues to develop its infrastructure. He highlighted the region’s interest in attracting the expertise, knowledge, and capital of compatriots living abroad.
At the conclusion of the meeting, specific investment proposals were presented, along with next steps for further elaboration and implementation of the discussed projects.
