Shahzod Alirizayev named acting deputy head of Uzatom

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Shahzod Alirizaev has been appointed as acting deputy director of the Atomic Energy Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, known as Uzatom, effective from April 24, 2026. The agency confirmed the appointment.

Prior to this role, Alirizaev served as deputy chairman of the board of Uzbekneftegaz, where he was responsible for industrial localization, expansion of cooperation links in industry, and the development of information technologies.

The agency noted that Alirizaev will be involved in tasks related to the further development of the country’s nuclear energy sector.

The staff of the organization congratulated him on his appointment and wished him success in his new position and in achieving the assigned objectives.
