Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A significant meeting took place at the "Uzeltekhsaot" Association, dedicated to large-scale international cooperation.

The event was attended by John Zaidi, regional director of the Saudi company Acwa Power, Rajan Bangal, head of the CIS countries division at the strategic contractor L&T Construction from India, as well as a delegation of over 20 leading enterprises from Uzbekistan's energy sector.

The main topic of discussion was ensuring the supply of energy-related products from local manufacturers, such as cable products, voltage devices, metal frame structures, cooling systems, and other components for the construction of solar power plants planned to be built in Uzbekistan. The projects will be funded by Acwa Power, with construction and installation work carried out by L&T Construction under a contract basis.

During the negotiations, both sides presented detailed presentations outlining their requirements and needs, technical specifications, and supply capabilities. Local manufacturers showcased modern production facilities, certified products in compliance with international standards, and export potential.

These talks were significant not only for demonstrating the capabilities of the national industry but also for expanding local cooperation within global investment projects in the field of "green energy." It is worth noting that the country's president has set a goal to increase the total capacity of power plants using renewable energy sources to 27 gigawatts by 2030.

Moreover, it was emphasized that the implementation of "green energy" projects in the country will require cable products worth $500 million.

The "Uzeltekhsaot" Association will continue to develop practical cooperation with leading foreign companies such as Acwa Power, Masdar, and L&T Construction, aiming to expand cooperation and increase the export of local products.
