Uzbek students win prizes at Engineers Future festival

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Students from Uzbekistan have been named among the winners of the international “Engineers of the Future” festival held in Tashkent from 28 to 30 April 2026.

The event was organized on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, announced at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin on September 1, 2025.

The festival brought together around 14,000 young developers from SCO member states and other countries. It featured exhibitions, olympiads, and competitions across nine modern engineering fields, including aviation, agricultural technologies, mechanical engineering, robotics, green energy, architecture, and medical engineering. A scientific consortium called “Engineers of the Future” was also announced following the results of the event.

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan served as the main organizer. Representatives of relevant ministries, university rectors from SCO countries, as well as delegates from the SCO Secretariat, the United Nations, and the World Federation of Engineering Organizations participated in the festival.

Students from the Almalyk State Technical Institute demonstrated strong results, winning three prize positions across different disciplines. The “ASTRYX” team secured qualification for the international First Tech Challenge “China Championship 2026.”

The “Metallurgical Engineer” team became a prize winner in the “Mechanisms Relay” competition, demonstrating strong technical preparation and teamwork. In the robotics category, students from the institute took third place in the “Humanoid Robots” division and were included in the national team.

The results reflect the level of training and scientific potential of the students, as well as the ongoing development of engineering education in Uzbekistan.
