Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with ZTE Senior Vice President Zhang Jianpeng, during which the sides discussed the expansion of digital and telecommunications infrastructure in the country.

The main focus was placed on the development of data center projects, as well as ensuring the resilience and security of Uzbekistan’s digital infrastructure. The parties also discussed prospects for the next phase of data center construction and the expansion of related capacities.

During the talks, the sides reviewed strategic areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in the telecommunications sector, including joint initiatives and the provision of digital services to remote and hard-to-reach regions of the country.

Representatives of ZTE presented information on their long-standing experience in Uzbekistan’s telecommunications market, implemented projects, and the modernization of network infrastructure.

It was separately noted that Uzbekistan’s telecom operators hold high positions in international Speedtest rankings, reflecting the dynamic development of the country’s digital sector.

The sides also discussed the training and professional development of local specialists, as well as the prospect of Uzbekistan developing, together with ZTE, as a regional digital hub for a broader region.
