Uzbekistan considers faster cashback payments for receipts

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is discussing the possibility of accelerating cashback payments on fiscal receipts in several sectors, including public catering, fuel sales, alcohol, and tobacco products. The initiative was reviewed at a meeting chaired by the President on May 5.

The measure has been proposed in the context of expanding cashless payments, which are becoming the primary method of payment for a range of goods and services. Authorities note the need to improve the convenience of such transactions for both consumers and businesses.

Since April 1 this year, purchases of automotive fuel, electric vehicle charging, as well as alcohol and tobacco products have been carried out exclusively in cashless form.

The discussion also addressed improvements to the monitoring system, including preventing possible misuse of notifications related to the non-issuance of fiscal receipts.

The cashback system operates through the Soliq application and provides a 1% refund on the purchase amount. At present, payments are credited after the 25th of the month following the month in which the receipt is registered, after verification of tax reporting data.

According to the Tax Committee, consumers received around 1.51 trillion soums in cashback payments in 2025, which is approximately 50% higher than in 2024.
