Uzbekistan Expands Pharmaceutical Exports in Afghanistan Talks
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation led by Najibullah Tawana, head of Afghanistan’s National Food and Drug Authority (AFDA), is currently visiting Uzbekistan as part of efforts to expand cooperation between the two countries in the pharmaceutical sector and strengthen trade and economic ties.
As part of the program, a special “Pharm Tour” was organized for the Afghan delegation, covering leading pharmaceutical enterprises in Uzbekistan. The guests were introduced to production processes, technological systems, industrial capacities, export potential and ongoing efforts to create new jobs.
During the meetings, the sides discussed issues related to the quality and safety standards of medicinal products, the development of logistics systems, improvement of product registration procedures and the expansion of bilateral trade cooperation.
Special attention was given to prospects for increasing mutual trade in pharmaceutical products, establishing long-term cooperation mechanisms and implementing new joint projects in the sector.
Following the negotiations, export contracts were signed between Uzbek manufacturers and Afghan importers.
It is noted that the talks demonstrated the growing export potential of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical industry and marked an additional step toward strengthening economic cooperation with Central Asian countries and neighboring states.
