Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is pursuing a new retail foothold in Azerbaijan for its textile sector, enlisting a Turkish trade intermediary to establish showrooms and trade houses that could lift the profile of Uzbek fabric and apparel in the South Caucasus market.

The Association Uztextilprom held talks with Yılmaz Okuкlu, founder of Turk Ticaret Merkezi, focusing on expanding bilateral cooperation in the textile sphere. Central to the discussion was raising the visibility of Uzbekistan's national textile products in Azerbaijan and broadening the industry's overall export capacity.

Both sides examined the prospects for jointly establishing trade houses and showrooms abroad as a dedicated channel for promoting Uzbek textile goods in foreign markets.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to pursue coordinated efforts to promote Uzbek textiles in Azerbaijan and implement projects aimed at strengthening trade and economic cooperation between the parties.
