Uzbekistan, MAURER discuss transport infrastructure
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov held a meeting with a delegation of the German company MAURER, led by CEO Holger Redecker. The talks focused on the development of transport infrastructure and the expansion of engineering cooperation.
The discussions covered prospects for introducing modern engineering solutions, as well as the construction of bridge structures taking into account the seismic conditions of the region. Special attention was paid to the application of international standards in the implementation of infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan.
Representatives of MAURER presented the Uzbek side with information on the company’s experience in building airports, road and railway bridges in various countries. It was noted that the company is ready to participate in projects in Uzbekistan using advanced technologies and engineering approaches.
The sides also considered the possibility of establishing a joint engineering cluster for the development of technical solutions and regulatory frameworks.
Additionally, the involvement of German specialists in the work of a research institute under the Committee for Roads was discussed.
Following the talks, both sides expressed interest in further developing cooperation in the field of transport infrastructure.
