Uzbekistan removes illegal MMA betting ad banner in Bukhara
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Bukhara, an advertising banner linked to a mixed martial arts event was dismantled after it was found to contain a logo associated with betting activities. Information about its installation had previously circulated in the media and social networks.
According to the Competition Committee, specialists promptly carried out an on-site inspection and confirmed that the banner was no longer present at the specified location near the Nodira Devonbegi madrasah. The Interior Affairs Department of the Bukhara region reported that the structure had been installed on April 29 and removed the same day.
Authorities reminded that current legislation prohibits outdoor advertising on objects classified as material cultural heritage. In addition, advertising of gambling and other risk-based activities is not allowed, including promotion through the internet and telecommunications networks.
The Competition Committee is currently conducting a further review of the case, including identifying the advertiser, the producer and distributor of the promotional material, as well as the event organizers. A legal assessment will be issued based on the results of the investigation.
Officials urged event organizers, advertisers, and participants in the outdoor advertising market to strictly comply with legal requirements, particularly restrictions related to cultural heritage sites.
