Xinjiang Weijie Proposes Tech Park Project in Ferghana
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The governor of Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, held talks with a delegation led by Mao Qi, head of China’s Xinjiang Weijie Investment Holding Group, to discuss potential investment projects in the region.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed a range of proposed initiatives that Chinese investors are considering for implementation in Ferghana. The regional governor highlighted the dynamic development of Uzbekistan–China relations across multiple sectors and noted the active and productive cooperation already taking place with Chinese businesses in the region.
Mao Qi expressed strong interest in investing in Ferghana and presented a proposal to establish a modern technopark aligned with international standards. The project envisions the development of high-tech manufacturing in industry, agriculture, and trade, alongside efforts to expand the region’s export potential.
The parties noted that the proposed initiatives require further detailed review and the preparation of concrete implementation proposals.
At the conclusion of the talks, both sides agreed to continue cooperation and work jointly on advancing the investment projects.
