Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan (CCIU) Davron Vakhabov held a meeting with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to discuss attracting international financial resources to Uzbekistan’s economy and supporting entrepreneurship.

The discussions focused on financing business activities, implementing investment projects in strategic industries, and facilitating Uzbek companies' access to international financial markets.

Special attention was given to the establishment of the Entrepreneur Support Center under the CCIU, which will serve as a key instrument in attracting international financial resources.

The talks also covered financing projects in the textile industry, including the development of processing facilities, modernization of equipment, and adoption of innovative technologies. Measures to revitalize idle factories, attract private investments, and implement technical modernization programs were also discussed.

Additionally, the parties explored the development of financial mechanisms for entrepreneurship, such as pre-export financing (factoring), the expansion of textile clusters, and support for green economy projects.

The discussions also addressed the requirements for local enterprises to receive direct financing from the EBRD. Key criteria included financial transparency, a clear business plan, effective corporate governance, export potential, and adherence to international environmental standards.

The negotiations were constructive, with both sides outlining future areas of cooperation.
