Uzbekistan’s Rahimova Advances to Roland Garros Second Round

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Camilla Rahimova made a successful start at Roland Garros, securing a first-round victory at the tournament.

The player, ranked 89th in the world, faced Romania’s Jacqueline Cristian, who is ranked 33rd in the WTA rankings.

The match ended with Rahimova winning in three sets: 6–3, 4–6, 6–4.

The contest was tightly fought and lasted more than two hours. After taking the first set convincingly, Rahimova lost the second set but recovered in the decisive third set to close out the match.

In the second round of Roland Garros, Rahimova will face Czech player Karolina Muchova.

Experts note that a strong start at one of the Grand Slam tournaments could mark an important step in her progress in the world rankings and strengthen her position on the international stage.
