Maria Timofeeva Wins WTA 125 Title in Istanbul

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Maria Timofeeva has won the WTA 125 tournament held in Istanbul, the Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan announced.

In the final match, Timofeeva defeated Croatia’s Donna Vekic in straight sets, 6–4, 6–2, delivering a confident performance throughout the contest.

The title marks the first WTA 125-level trophy of Timofeeva’s professional career. The victory earned her 125 ranking points and prize money of US$15,500.

Runner-up Donna Vekic received 81 WTA ranking points and US$8,400 in prize money after reaching the final.
