Uzbekistan and Iran Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Tashkent on 11 May 2026, between Bakhramjon Alayev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, and Mohammad Ali Eskandari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
During the talks, the sides exchanged detailed views on further strengthening Uzbekistan-Iran cooperation. Discussions covered political engagement, development of trade and economic ties, and expansion of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
Special attention was given to current regional issues, including developments in the Middle East. The sides emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and coordination on matters of mutual interest.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran across various sectors.
