Ortikov wins silver at Dushanbe Grand Slam

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek judoka Azizbek Ortikov won a silver medal at the Grand Slam tournament currently taking place in Dushanbe.

On the opening day of competition, the Uzbekistan national team representative competing in the under-66 kg category confidently advanced through the bracket to reach the final. In earlier rounds, he defeated opponents from Kyrgyzstan and France, and in the semifinal overcame 2021 world champion Yago Abuladze.

In the final bout, Ortikov faced Tajikistan’s leading judoka Nurali Emomali, a world championship medalist.

Following the contest, the Uzbek athlete was defeated and secured the silver medal of the tournament.
