President of Uzbekistan sends condolences to Türkiye over Denizli crash

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent condolences to President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following a road traffic accident involving a passenger bus in Denizli province that resulted in deaths and injuries.

The head of state expressed sympathy and support to the families of those killed and wished a swift recovery to all those injured.

According to Turkish media, the accident occurred early on Sunday morning in the western part of the country. A bus operated by the Pamukkale travel company was traveling from Izmir to Antalya, carrying 38 passengers and three crew members.

At around 01:40 local time, the vehicle crashed into roadside barriers and subsequently caught fire.

At least eight people were killed in the incident, including the bus driver. A further 33 people sustained injuries of varying severity and were hospitalized.
