Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Thailand’s Cabinet has approved a reduction in the maximum visa-free stay for foreign tourists from 93 countries from 60 days to 30 days, Thai PBS reported.

The authorities also plan to review existing special entry arrangements previously granted to certain countries with different visa categories.

Thailand’s Minister of Tourism and Sports Surasak Pancharoenworakul said the Visa Policy Committee will conduct separate assessments for each country. He noted that security concerns and economic interests will be taken into account when making decisions.

In some cases, the visa-free stay period may be further reduced to 15 days. No additional details on the scope or timeline of the changes have been announced.
