Uzbekistan extends border checkpoint hours in Ferghana region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Border and customs checkpoints in Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region have been switched to a 24-hour operating regime, according to the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.
The changes apply to the Ferghana customs border post under the Ferghana regional customs department, the “Ok-Kiya” customs checkpoint at the entrance to Shohimardon, and the Sokh border customs post.
Previously, these checkpoints operated from 06:00 to 22:00. They are now functioning on a 24/7 basis.
The decision was made to create more convenient conditions for citizens during the summer tourist season and to increase the flow of cross-border travelers.
The new operating schedule will remain in effect until 1 October this year.
