Uzbekistan fish catch exceeds 21,000 tons in Q1 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Fish catch in Uzbekistan totaled 21.3 thousand tons in January–March 2026 across all categories of enterprises, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Committee.
The figure represents a 6.1% increase compared to the same period in 2025, reflecting growth in the country’s fishing output at the beginning of the year.
The highest volume of fish catch was recorded in Khorezm region, with 4.5 thousand tons. It was followed by Jizzakh region with 3.5 thousand tons and Tashkent region with 3.3 thousand tons.
Significant volumes were also recorded in Andijan, Navoi, and Syrdarya regions, as well as Namangan and Ferghana regions. In the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, and Samarkand regions, production ranged from 0.5 to 0.9 thousand tons.
The data are based on preliminary calculations by the National Statistics Committee and cover the results of all categories of enterprises in the republic for the reporting period.
