Uzbekistan–Syria Trade House Opens in Aleppo
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An official opening ceremony for the Uzbekistan–Syria Trade House and distribution center was held on 21 May in the Syrian city of Aleppo, according to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
The project was implemented in cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Ahmad Kalash Ltd. The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kuwait Ayubkhan Yunusov, as well as more than 100 entrepreneurs from both countries.
The new center has been established to develop trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Syria, promote Uzbek products on the Syrian market, and organize logistics and distribution processes.
It is noted that delivery of one container from Uzbekistan to Aleppo takes around 10 days, with an average transportation cost of approximately US$2,500.
Through the center, the export of products under the Made in Uzbekistan brand is expected to expand, direct business links between entrepreneurs will be strengthened, and new foreign trade channels will be developed.
According to estimates from both sides, the project will contribute to further development of economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Syria.
