Uzbekistan removes over 70,000 tons of waste in five days
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — More than 70,000 tons of household waste were collected and removed across Uzbekistan between 25 May and 29 May, according to the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development.
The cleanup operations covered 14,400 mahallas across the country.
Around 33,000 workers and 12,400 units of specialized equipment were involved in the sanitation efforts.
The agency said the large-scale operations are aimed at maintaining cleanliness in settlements, improving sanitary conditions, and preventing the accumulation of waste.
Officials noted that such activities are part of systematic measures to improve urban maintenance and strengthen environmental safety across the regions.
