Uzbekistan Showcases Tourism Potential in Hong Kong Forum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5–6 May 2026, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region hosted the “Made in Uzbekistan” exhibition and a Uzbekistan–China business forum aimed at expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
As part of the event, the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan presented the country’s tourism potential at the national pavilion. Promotion of Uzbekistan’s travel destinations was carried out through presentation materials, multimedia content, and a series of B2B meetings with representatives of Hong Kong’s tourism industry.
Uzbek participation in the forum is particularly significant in the context of strengthening the country’s presence in one of Asia’s largest financial, business, and logistics hubs. Hong Kong is viewed as an important international gateway to markets in China and the Asia-Pacific region, as well as one of the world’s leading centers for business and MICE tourism.
On the second day of the forum, a specialized B2B platform was organized at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre by the Tourism Committee, bringing together leading travel companies, tour operators, and destination management companies from Hong Kong.
From the Uzbek side, negotiations involved tourism companies and representatives of regional tourism authorities, including the Tourism Department of the Kashkadarya region.
Following the meetings and negotiations between tourism industry representatives, around 20 cooperation agreements were signed aimed at developing tourist exchanges, expanding partnerships, and promoting Uzbekistan’s travel routes in the Asian market.
The high level of representation of the Uzbek delegation and the scale of the business mission reflect growing international interest in Uzbekistan as a promising center for tourism, investment, and regional cooperation in Central Asia.
More than 150 Uzbek entrepreneurs took part in the events in Hong Kong, with the program also including investment presentations, meetings with business circles, and initiatives to promote the country’s export and tourism potential.
