Drugs Hidden in Water Pump Seized in Tashkent Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Law enforcement authorities in Uzbekistan have uncovered a drug trafficking case in which narcotics were hidden inside a technical device in the Zangiota district of the Tashkent region.

The operation was carried out by officers of the State Security Service together with customs authorities, according to an official report.

During the operation, a 1994-born citizen, originally from the Republic of Karakalpakstan and previously under surveillance, was detained. A water pump device imported from abroad was seized from him in accordance with procedural rules.

During an inspection conducted in the presence of witnesses, 968 grams of the synthetic drug Alpha-PVP were discovered inside the device.

Additionally, electronic scales used for packaging narcotics, along with zip bags and adhesive tape, were found and seized in a rented house in the Yangihayot district of Tashkent, used by the suspect.

According to law enforcement authorities, the detainee acted as a “warehouse keeper” in an online drug marketplace.

A criminal case has been opened, and investigative actions are ongoing.
