Rosselkhoznadzor Denies Restrictions on Uzbek Fruit Imports

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) has stated that no restrictive measures have been introduced on the import of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan, and that technical consultations with the Uzbek side have been initiated to ensure safe and uninterrupted supplies to the Russian market.

According to the agency, on May 29, 2026, Rosselkhoznadzor approached Uzbekistan’s competent authority with a proposal to hold technical consultations aimed at developing mechanisms to ensure stable deliveries of Uzbek agricultural products to Russia.

The agency emphasized that no import restrictions on Uzbek fruits and vegetables have been imposed.

Earlier reports had indicated that from May 30, 2026, Rosselkhoznadzor planned to introduce temporary restrictions on supplies from 10 Uzbek exporters that had allegedly committed the highest number of violations in export operations. However, the relevant information is currently not available on the Russian agency’s official website.

According to Rosselkhoznadzor data, in 2025 more than 9.5 million tons of regulated plant products were inspected during shipments to Russia, excluding grain and processed grain products, along with over 2.7 billion units of planting and flower materials, and 18,700 tons of seed material.
