Foreign IT Companies Pay US$5.1M Taxes in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first quarter of 2026, foreign companies providing electronic services in Uzbekistan paid 65.7 billion soums in taxes to the state budget, according to the country’s tax authorities. Officials noted a significant increase in revenues compared to the previous year.
According to the agency, tax payments from 89 foreign companies rose by 81% year-on-year. The growth reflects the expanding presence of international digital services in the Uzbek market and strengthened tax administration in the digital economy sector.
Among the largest taxpayers are global technology companies. Apple led the list with payments of 16.1 billion soums. It was followed by Google with 14.9 billion soums and Meta with 13.9 billion soums.
Other notable contributors include Valve Corp. with 8 billion soums, OpenAI with 2.5 billion soums, and Anthropic with 1.5 billion soums.
The top ten taxpayers also included Midasbuy with 1.3 billion soums, TikTok with 868.3 million soums, Booking.com with 694.7 million soums, and Netflix with 570.4 million soums.
Tax authorities reminded that foreign legal entities providing electronic services are required to submit tax reports and pay taxes no later than the 20th day of the month following the reporting quarter, in accordance with the provisions of Uzbekistan’s Tax Code.
