Uzbekistan Senate, SCO Boost People’s Diplomacy
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on international relations, foreign economic ties, foreign investments, and tourism, and the Center for People’s Diplomacy of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Uzbekistan.
The document is aimed at developing people’s diplomacy and strengthening humanitarian ties.
Under the agreement, the parties plan to implement joint projects and initiatives on a systematic basis. The focus is on strengthening interethnic harmony and tolerance, as well as expanding international humanitarian contacts.
As part of the memorandum, a “road map” has been approved outlining priority areas of cooperation, specific measures, and joint actions for implementation. This is expected to structure collaboration and ensure practical execution of the agreements reached.
A separate event featured the presentation of the book titled “People’s Diplomacy – A Joint Step Toward Peace.”
Participants discussed the role and significance of people’s diplomacy in modern international relations, emphasizing its importance as a tool for strengthening trust between countries and societies.
