Kazakhstan leader says he supports creation of free economic zone in CA

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said that Kazakhstan supports the idea of the leader of Uzbekistan on the creation of free economic zone between the two countries at the meeting with the Uzbek envoy.

As earlier reporte, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan Farrukh Tursunov handed over credentials to Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbaev.

"During the official visit to Kazakhstan in April 2008 the President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, suggested creating the zone of free trade between our countries," Nazarbayev said.

"We support the proposal as we always support economic integration of all countries in our region," he stated.

Nazarbayev concluded: "We need to use the potential of our bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation for safety and stability in Central Asia and for the future development of economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan."
