Maria Timofeeva wins WTA 125 title in Croatia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Maria Timofeeva won the WTA 125 tournament in the Croatian city of Makarska.

In the final, the Uzbek player secured a straight-sets victory over Latvia’s Darja Semenistaja. The match ended 6-2, 6-3 in Timofeeva’s favour.

The victory earned Timofeeva 125 WTA ranking points and prize money of US$8,400.

The total prize fund of the Makarska tournament was US$115,000. The event attracted players from a number of countries and was one of the notable tournaments on the WTA 125 calendar.
