Oil-Containing Leak Reported in Baysun District of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An oil-containing fluid discharge has been recorded again in Baysun district of the Surkhandarya region, according to the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change.

Preliminary data indicates that the incident occurred at around 06:30 in the morning. A strong mudflow reportedly destroyed a protective embankment, which led to the leakage of an oil-containing mixture.

A special task group is currently working at the site, including officers from the environmental police of the Main Department of Ecology of the Surkhandarya region and other relevant agencies. Officials are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
