Solar subsidies in Uzbekistan exceed 73.9 bln soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first quarter of 2026, a total of 45,200 individuals in Uzbekistan received state subsidies for electricity generated by solar panels and supplied to the grid. The total amount of payments reached 73.982 billion soums.

The largest share of subsidies was recorded in the Bukhara region, where payouts totaled 16.5 billion soums. This was followed by the Khorezm region with 13.3 billion soums and the Kashkadarya region with 9.1 billion soums.

The subsidies are provided under the “Solar Home” program, which has been in effect since April 1, 2023. Under its terms, households receive 1,000 soums from the state budget for every kilowatt-hour of electricity generated by their solar panels and supplied to the unified energy system beyond their own consumption.

The funds can be transferred to a bank card via the Soliq mobile application. A dedicated service is available in the “Cashback and Benefits” section under “Solar Home,” allowing users to withdraw the accumulated subsidies.

The subsidy mechanism is designed to encourage the adoption of renewable energy sources and expand household participation in electricity generation.
