Tashkent introduces new environmental rules for construction sites

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — New requirements for the organization of construction sites are being introduced in Tashkent, aimed at improving the environmental situation and enhancing safety standards at building sites, the city administration said.

The initiative was presented within the framework of the Tashkent mayor’s “Information, Report, Dialogue” format, outlining a new project to introduce unified environmental and organizational standards for construction sites across the city.

Under the new requirements, construction sites must be enclosed with special barriers. Each site will also be required to display an official project passport containing full construction details, while protective canopies must be installed to ensure pedestrian safety.

The project also includes the introduction of microclimate systems around construction areas, such as water spraying systems and dosing equipment designed to reduce dust levels and improve environmental conditions.

Special attention is given to digital monitoring. Construction sites will be equipped with surveillance cameras integrated into the Construction Control Inspection system. Environmental sensors, night-vision devices, and automated electricity metering systems are also planned to be introduced.

The requirements also include designated washing areas for construction machinery to ensure that vehicles entering public roads are clean.

According to the city administration, the new standards will be gradually implemented across nearly 1,700 construction sites in the capital, with a transition period provided for compliance.

It was noted that residents and experts contributed proposals during the discussions. The Tashkent mayor stated readiness to consider constructive suggestions and make adjustments to the project if necessary.
