Tashkent Region Appoints New Officials in Reshuffle

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A series of personnel appointments has been made at regional and local levels in Uzbekistan's Tashkent region, the regional administration's press service said.

Jahongir Mamajonov has been appointed Deputy Governor of Tashkent Region and Head of the Regional Department for Investment, Industry and Trade. He holds degrees in economics, finance and international economic relations. Prior to his appointment, Mamajonov served as Chief Executive Officer of the U.S.-registered company JM Group.

Ruslan Kunarov has been appointed Deputy Governor responsible for the development of industrial enterprises. The position was created specifically for Tashkent Region in accordance with a presidential decree.

Kunarov holds a degree in taxation and tax administration and previously worked as a production adviser at Bio Korm in Yangiyul district.

Changes were also made to the leadership of cities in the region. Former Almalyk Mayor Kobil Khamdamov was appointed Mayor of Nurafshan, replacing Ilkhom Klichkhanov, who has moved to another position.

In turn, the post of Mayor of Almalyk was assigned to Barkhayot Meliev, the former head of the regional environmental department.

Iskandar Agzamkhojayev has been appointed head of the Tashkent Regional Customs Administration. He previously led the Tashkent-AERO customs complex.

In addition, Dilshod Rasulov has been appointed head of the regional project office for industrial cooperation development under the Agency for Industrial Cooperation Development and Public Procurement. He previously served as an adviser to the regional governor on local industry development.

Doniyor Abdujalilov has also been appointed representative of the Chamber of Accounts of Uzbekistan at the Tashkent regional administration.

Before his appointment, he worked as a chief specialist in the Digital Technologies Coordination Department of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
