Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Serbia Adriana Mesarovic during an official visit by a parliamentary delegation to Serbia.

During the talks, the Serbian side noted the importance of the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan. Adriana Mesarovic highly praised the measures aimed at ensuring gender equality, expanding women’s participation in public and political life, and strengthening their role in decision-making processes, emphasizing their impact on the country’s economic development.

The sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Uzbek–Serbian trade, economic and investment relations. Special attention was paid to increasing mutual trade turnover, implementing joint investment projects, and expanding cooperation in industry, agriculture, the textile sector, information technologies and e-commerce.

Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation in the textile industry, including the establishment of joint production facilities and the expansion of industrial cooperation between enterprises of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, both sides underlined the importance of enhancing direct contacts between business communities in order to fully realize economic potential and strengthen mutually beneficial partnership between Uzbekistan and Serbia.
