Uzbekistan Appoints Deputy Defense Minister for Digitalization
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Colonel Bakhrom Urmanov has been appointed Deputy Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan for digitalization, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. The corresponding decree was signed by the country’s president.
Prior to his new appointment, Urmanov headed the Main Directorate for Communications, Information Technologies and Information Protection of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan.
In his new role, he will oversee the development of the defense ministry’s digital infrastructure, the introduction of modern technologies, and the strengthening of cybersecurity measures.
In accordance with a separate order of the President of Uzbekistan, Colonel Mirsaid Shukurov has been appointed head of the Southern Operational Command of the Southwestern Special Military District.
