Uzbekistan, Chinese firm expand critical minerals cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Technological Metals Plant and China’s Shaanxi Non-ferrous Metals Holding Group have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at expanding collaboration in the extraction and processing of strategically important mineral resources.
The agreement provides for joint work in geological exploration, deposit development and the deep processing of critical minerals. The parties also intend to cooperate in technology transfer, scientific research, workforce training and the implementation of investment projects.
The implementation of the agreements is expected to strengthen Uzbekistan’s position in the production and processing of critical minerals, expand international partnerships and increase the output of value-added products.
Shaanxi Non-ferrous Metals Holding Group is one of the world’s leading companies in the mining and processing of molybdenum and titanium. The corporation is also engaged in engineering activities and the development of integrated industrial value chains.
The holding company comprises more than 30 enterprises and employs over 40,000 people.
Its key assets include Jinduicheng Molybdenum Co., Ltd., one of the world’s largest molybdenum producers, and Baoti Group, which specialises in the production of titanium and titanium alloys for the aerospace and industrial sectors.
