Uzbekistan extradites fraud suspect woman from Türkiye
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As a result of operational-search activities conducted by the Operational-Search Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan jointly with Turkish law enforcement agencies, a woman wanted internationally since 2020 has been extradited to Uzbekistan.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the detainee is accused of committing an offence under Part 3 of Article 168 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. It has been established that she operated without the relevant licence for employment of citizens abroad and, presenting herself as the head of a limited liability company she had created, misled citizens.
It is reported that the woman promised victims employment in European countries and the United States with high-paying jobs, signed service agreements with them and received funds, which she later used for personal purposes.
The Ministry noted that within the framework of the previously implemented “4+4” mechanism between the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Türkiye, effective cooperation has been established, including rapid exchange of information and coordination of actions in the search for criminals.
Thanks to these measures, the suspect was identified and detained in Türkiye, after which she was extradited to Uzbekistan for further procedural actions.
