Uzbekistan, ROSEN Expand Oil and Gas Safety Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and international company ROSEN Group have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening the safety of oil and gas infrastructure and expanding cooperation in the field of industrial safety.
The agreement was concluded between the Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety Committee under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan (IRNS Committee) and ROSEN Group, a company specializing in asset integrity management. The document establishes a framework for technical cooperation, knowledge exchange and expert support in the oil and gas sector.
Under the partnership, the sides plan to develop technical dialogue, introduce risk-based inspection approaches, improve industrial risk management practices and strengthen regulatory capacity.
Particular attention will be given to adapting international standards to Uzbekistan’s national industrial safety system.
Akhadkhan Isokjonov, First Deputy Chairman of the Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety Committee, said the partnership with ROSEN represents an important step toward strengthening the country’s oil and gas safety system. According to him, the use of international expertise will help enhance oversight and improve technical competencies in the sector.
ROSEN Group said the cooperation is aimed at strengthening infrastructure integrity and supporting the development of safe and sustainable energy systems. The company’s Senior Vice President Hernando Caceres stated that effective asset integrity management is fundamental to public and energy security.
Uzbekistan’s efforts to develop energy infrastructure are being accompanied by modernization of the regulatory system and the introduction of modern technical approaches. In this context, the memorandum is viewed as a step toward improving the resilience of critical infrastructure and reinforcing the national industrial safety system.
It was also noted that ROSEN Group was selected as a partner due to its international experience working with regulators and operators, as well as its expertise in pipeline inspection and risk management.
The cooperation framework also предусматривает the implementation of pilot projects involving modern inspection methods in Uzbekistan’s oil and gas industry.
