Uzbekistan, South Korea Expand Tax Administration Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and South Korea are entering a new phase of cooperation in tax administration as a delegation from Uzbekistan’s Tax Committee conducts a working visit to Jeju at the invitation of the Korea National Tax Service.
The main purpose of the visit is to study South Korea’s advanced experience in organizing tax administration systems.
Particular attention is being paid to taxpayer service systems, digital management tools, and mechanisms for professional training and staff development. Both sides are also considering ways to strengthen institutional cooperation between relevant agencies.
On the first day of the visit, the Uzbek delegation was presented with key approaches used in the Korean tax system. These included quality management systems and institutional assessment frameworks, the infrastructure of consultation services, digital management of telephone inquiries, and online advisory platforms based on internet services.
The Korean side provided a detailed overview of its digital solutions and innovative methods of interaction with taxpayers. The discussions also covered training approaches for consultation center staff, the introduction of performance-based incentive mechanisms, and the development of a modern working environment within public institutions.
Representatives of Uzbekistan’s Tax Committee said the experience being studied is of significant importance for further modernization of the national tax system.
In particular, the parties are discussing the potential integration of existing call centers with digital inquiry platforms, which would improve response times and increase transparency in interactions with citizens and businesses.
Both sides noted that the development of digital solutions and the exchange of administrative experience could serve as a foundation for improving the efficiency of tax administration and the quality of public services in both countries.
