Uzbekistan Studies Low-Carbon Development Experience in China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A capacity-building program on low-carbon development and achieving carbon neutrality for Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states is currently underway in the People’s Republic of China, with participation from a representative of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of the training, an advisor to the chairman of the board of JSC O‘zbekneftgaz on spirituality and educational work, state language and gender policy is taking part in international courses aimed at studying modern environmental and energy approaches.

The program is organized on a grant basis and includes scientific and practical lectures as well as hands-on training sessions. Lecturers include scientists from the Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, specialists from an international organization on the development of a global energy internet, associate professors from Peking University, and staff from the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

The training covers issues of low-carbon development, reducing environmental impact in the oil and gas sector, rational use of natural resources, and regional integration processes in Central Asia.

The program also includes study visits to the China-SCO Center for Scientific and Technological Innovation Cooperation, the demonstration zone and technology park for green low-carbon innovations in Qingdao, and facilities of the company Danen, which produces environmental equipment.

In addition, participants are introduced to the “green transformation” model of an experimental carbon reduction park and the zero-emission building operation experience of TELD NEW ENERGY in the city of Qingdao.
