Uzbekistan to Face Netherlands in Friendly Ahead of World Cup

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan national football team will play a friendly match against the Netherlands as part of its preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The match will take place on 8 June 2026, in New York at Icahn Stadium, according to the press service of the Uzbekistan Football Association.

The fixture will be part of the national team’s preparation cycle ahead of the upcoming World Cup, which will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026, in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Organizers view the match as one of the key stages in assessing the team’s readiness for a high-level international tournament.

The 2026 World Cup will be the first in history to be hosted by three countries. Uzbekistan will participate in the tournament and compete in Group K, where its opponents will be Portugal, Colombia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
