Uzbekistan Creates Insolvency Agency to Reform Bankruptcy System
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has established an Agency for Insolvency Affairs that will operate under the Ministry of Justice and maintain regional offices across the country, the ministry’s press service said.
The new body has been designated as the specially authorized authority responsible for forming and implementing a unified state policy in the field of bankruptcy. Its mandate includes regulation and oversight of insolvency procedures as well as coordination among government bodies involved in the sector.
According to the announcement, one of the agency’s key priorities will be the digitalization of insolvency-related procedures. Authorities say the reform aims to simplify administrative processes and reduce bureaucratic barriers in bankruptcy case management.
In addition, the Association of Judicial Administrators will be reorganized into a Chamber of Judicial Administrators, which will operate on a self-governance basis and bring together professionals working in insolvency procedures.
The reform also provides for the establishment of regional branches in Karakalpakstan, all regions, and the city of Tashkent.
Officials said the changes are intended to systematize the bankruptcy framework, improve procedural transparency, and strengthen the institutional foundations of insolvency regulation in Uzbekistan.
