EDB Joins Uzbekistan Foreign Investors Council
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has been granted full membership in the Council of Foreign Investors under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the bank said in a statement.
The Council of Foreign Investors is an advisory body to the head of state, established to attract foreign direct investment and improve the country’s investment climate. Its members include leading international financial institutions and major foreign companies operating in Uzbekistan, such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Finance Corporation.
EDB Board Chairman Nikolay Podguzov said the bank’s participation in the council reflects recognition of its role in the economic development of Central Asia. He noted growing international business interest in Uzbekistan and said the bank intends to actively participate in dialogue between the government and investors, as well as share regional experience and expertise.
The bank recalled that Uzbekistan became the seventh member state of the EDB in 2025. Since then, the institution has expanded its investment activities in the country and positions itself as one of the key partners in supporting sustainable economic growth in the region.
