Uzbekistan Tour Operators Explore Dagestan Tourism
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An eight-day familiarization tour titled “Salam, Dagestan” has concluded in the Republic of Dagestan, bringing together a delegation from Uzbekistan consisting of 24 tourism industry representatives, including tour operators, travel agents, experts, and bloggers.
The trip was organized by the Ministry of Tourism of Dagestan, the regional Tourism Center, and the tour operator DagTour.
During the program, participants explored the tourism potential of the republic, visiting Makhachkala, mountainous areas, the Sulak Canyon, Derbent, and coastal zones. Special attention was given to hotel infrastructure, ethnocultural heritage, gastronomy, and opportunities for active tourism.
The final meeting was held at the “Russia – My History” park, where First Deputy Minister of Tourism of Dagestan Abduła Magomedov, together with representatives of the Uzbek delegation, summarized the results of the visit. Participants noted the high level of service and the readiness of regional infrastructure to receive international tourist groups.
Following the discussions, the sides agreed to launch new combined tourism routes in 2026. The initiative will continue cooperation under the “Just Tourism” roadshow and aims to increase tourist flows from Central Asian countries.
