Uzbekneftegaz, SOCAR expand energy cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting between senior representatives of Uzbekneftegaz and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) took place in Baku during the Baku Energy Week – 2026 international energy forum.
The discussions were held between Uzbekneftegaz Board Chairman Abdugani Sanginov and SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf.
The two sides reviewed prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector, as well as the implementation of joint projects previously agreed in Tashkent.
Sanginov expressed appreciation to the Azerbaijani side for the invitation to participate in the Baku Energy Week and highlighted the importance of strengthening partnership relations between the companies.
Particular attention was given to an action plan related to a production sharing agreement project scheduled through 2029. The parties also discussed accelerating implementation of the project, including the completion of the interpretation of geophysical data.
The meeting emphasized the need to optimize working processes and reduce the timeline for key stages of joint projects.
The importance of expanding cooperation in social initiatives aimed at strengthening ties between the two companies and promoting relations between the peoples of the two countries was also noted.
