Auto China 2026 Opens Across Two Beijing Venues
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Beijing International Automotive Exhibition Auto China 2026 has opened this week across two major venues in Beijing, bringing together leading global automakers at one of the industry’s most prominent events.
Running through May 3 under the theme “Future of Intelligence,” the exhibition spans approximately 380,000 square meters. It is hosted at the China International Exhibition Center in the Shunyi district and the Capital International Exhibition Center, making it the largest auto show in the world by exhibition space.
A total of 1,451 vehicles are on display, including 181 global premieres and 71 concept cars, underscoring China’s growing importance as both a key automotive market and a hub for technological innovation.
Major international brands taking part include BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, Toyota, Honda, Ford, Volvo and Hyundai. The premium segment features brands such as Porsche, Lotus and Mansory. American marques including Buick, Cadillac and Lincoln are also present.
Chinese manufacturers are strongly represented, including BYD, Geely, SAIC Motor, BAIC Group, Changan Automobile, GAC Group and Great Wall Motor. Fast-growing electric vehicle brands such as NIO, XPeng, Li Auto, Xiaomi EV, AITO and ZEEKR are showcasing developments in electric, hybrid and hydrogen-powered vehicles.
A dedicated supply chain and technology pavilion features companies from 21 countries and regions, including Huawei, CATL, Bosch, Pony.ai and Horizon Robotics. Tier-one suppliers such as BorgWarner, Aptiv, Valeo, Samsung and Hitachi Astemo are also participating.
More than 200 press conferences are scheduled during the event. The business agenda covers government policy on electric vehicles, supply chain investments, autonomous mobility development and global market expansion.
First held in 1990, Auto China has evolved alongside China’s rise to become the world’s largest automotive market. Organizers say the use of two venues reflects both the scale of transformation in the industry and Beijing’s ambition to play a leading role in the global transition to electrification and intelligent mobility.
