Enco Group launches cable production in Tashkent region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new production facility of Enco Group, specializing in high-voltage cable manufacturing, has been officially inaugurated at the Eltech Industrial technopark in Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of local authorities, the diplomatic corps, industry associations, company management and international partners. Among them were Akhangaran district governor Bahromjon Norkobilov, Ambassador of Belarus to Uzbekistan Aleksandr Ogorodnikov, representatives of the Uzbek Association “Uzelteh Sanoat,” and partner company Yuqori Chirchiq Energy Systems.
The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Belarusian company Energokomplekt. The total cost of the production complex, which is being developed on a 21-hectare site, is estimated at around US$60 million.
Once operating at full capacity, the facility will be capable of producing up to 25,000 tons of high-voltage cable products per year and is expected to create around 600 jobs. The export potential of the project is estimated at US$300 million.
At the initial stage, more than US$10 million has already been invested. Annual export volumes at this phase are expected to reach up to US$140 million.
The products manufactured at the facility will be supplied to Germany, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, and CIS countries.
The launch of Enco Group is seen as a step toward strengthening Uzbekistan’s industrial capacity, expanding export-oriented manufacturing, and supporting import substitution processes in the country.
